SCIEL creates a network of scientists that together span a broad range of expertise, related to biotechnology, bioinformatics and life science research. This allows our workers to quickly assemble teams with all the expertise needed to meet the demands of our clients. It also provides an excellent creative environment to build our own de novo technologies, assays and analytics, which we ourselves will bring to market. Our workers can be quickly integrated into SCIEL projects, where they will experience important cross-training opportunities. Joining SCIEL and working as a part of several teams also allows each worker to amortize their risk, as they can migrate away from less productive projects and towards more successful ones.
SCIEL aims to significantly reduce the cost for developing analytic or experimental pipelines in companies. We have several on-going projects that promise novel commercially viable devices and analytics. In some cases our projects may have clinical utility in cancer and infectious diseases. Other projects seek to build generic components that can be used in a broad range of life and health science arenas. We have a deep dedication to “do it yourself” (DIY) science in order to keep modern science as cheap and cost effective as possible. This will enable many smaller companies and labs to gain access to this technology and become more competitive.
